About the Florida knowledge test

How many questions are on the Florida written test?

Florida's Class E knowledge test has 50 questions and you must get 40 right (80%) to pass. Questions come from the official Florida Driver License Handbook — traffic laws, signs, safe driving, and DUI.

Are these the exact test questions?

The state does not publish its full question pool. We author these practice questions from the same official source the real test uses — the Official Florida Driver License Handbook (FLHSMV) — with each grounded in a specific handbook rule. Traffic laws are facts, not copyrightable.

Does it cost anything or need an account?

It is completely free and no signup is required. Sign in only to save your history and see weak areas.

What topics are covered?

Traffic laws and right-of-way, road signs and signals, safe-driving practices, alcohol/drugs and penalties, sharing the road, and parking/vehicle rules.

What if I fail?

If you don't pass in Florida, you can retake the Class E knowledge test after a short wait. Drill full 50-question simulations here until you're consistently above 40 correct.
